What the Heck is Camp Kale Anyway?

(Mostly) Plant-Based Nutrition + Lifestyle Coaching
for Pizza Lovers and Party People

Camp Kale is a "mostly-plants" detox and nutrition program designed specifically for fall.  This powerful online course and coaching program is delivered straight to your email inbox, and via a password-protected website and social media.
Camp Kale is a new kind of camp — instead of sailing lessons and archery, we'll try juicing and blending.
Chopping and dicing.
Stirring and sautéing our way to quick, healthy meals. 
Learning how to navigate restaurant dining and menu-hack our way to a more balanced lifestyle.
Developing mindfulness tactics to help resolve our often emotionally charged relationship to the food.
In short — we'll acknowledge that while any season has its fair share of indulgences, we can train ourselves how to better navigate the territory between "being good" and train wreck.
Camp Kale participants will be invited to:
1 — Learn powerful "flex-tox" strategies to help manage weight, and balance the body, while indulging in treats and festivities.

2 — Use improved nutrition (eat more fruits and vegetables!) to look and feel better in our bodies. 

3 — Celebrate the season's bounty with delicious "real food" recipes: smoothies, breakfast dishes, juices, salads, soups, "bowls," wraps, grill/skillet meals and other tasty fare.

4 — Explore the benefits of incorporating "raw" and plant-based foods into our diet, regardless of the kind of protein we eat.

5 — Support and strengthen your body with enhanced nutrition coaching from a certified holistic nutritionist.

Camp Kale is a four-week program that costs $139 per participant (about $35/week).

Each Camper will receive:
1. Camp Kale Prep Guide — Each participant will receive an eBook (PDF format) that shows you how to prep the pantry and make other pre-camp preparations.
2. Weekly Meal Plans and Featured Recipes — The weekly Meal Planner will help you get focused and organized, and the recipes will enable you to prepare simple meals that are both satisfying and delicious. Links for these downloads will be sent directly to your email inbox each week.
3. Nutrition Instruction + Group Coaching — Each weekday throughout the program, I send a special email to your inbox, featuring the day’s nutrition focus and lifestyle tips — as well as a little extra support and motivation.
4. Weekly Intensive via Audio and/or Video — Each week, you'll be invited to take a deep dive into a specific nutrition topic, which will be covered via conference call/webinar and/or video demonstration. 
5. Access to a Private Facebook Group  (optional) — If you're on Facebook, this is a great place to ask questions and exchange support with fellow participants.

What's on the Menu at Camp Kale?

Each week, you'll have the option of following the Meal Plan or mix-and-matching meals according to what appeals (or what you have on hand!). The Camp Kale Meal Plans and Recipes feature:
1 — An emphasis on "real food" — simple meals you can prepare easily from scratch, without relying on processed foods and ingredients.
2 — Lots of fresh, nutritious vegetables — with homemade dressing, sauces and other condiments.
3 — Fruit! We'll be enjoying seasonal fruit for breakfast, in smoothies and snacks, and even on top of salads.
4 — Lean, high-quality protein —For vegans and vegetarians: organic tofu and tempeh, nuts and seeds, and beans/legumes. For omnivores: plant-based proteins; small amounts of animal protein are optional (organic chicken, wild seafood, and pastured eggs). 
5 — Healthy fats — from avocado, nuts/seeds, and coconut butter/oil.
6 — Recipes for fresh juices and smoothies. Dust off that juicer or borrow one from a friend and start experimenting!
7 — Flavorful salads, dressings, sauces, "bowls", soups, snacks, pre/post workout nutrition, and hearty entree-style meals.

What's it Like Working with Monica?

I know there can be a lot of guilt and shame around the nutrition and fitness industry. However, Camp Kale is a guilt/shame-free zone! Here's some background on my approach and key practices:

We won't be counting calories — or fat grams or carbs.

We won't be hungry — the plan includes plenty of food. Delicious, healthy, easy-to-prepare food.

I believe in eating delicious food — if it doesn't taste good, you won't want to eat it — or be able to make lasting change in your life.

We're all busy. I get that — and I also believe it's possible to live healthy in spite of a busy, overcommitted lifestyle. I'm constantly trying to fine-tune my game to save you time and energy in the kitchen.

It's all about the balance. Most people can succeed on a crash diet for a short period of time.  However, long term and sustainable change is a balance of clean-living and indulgences. I don't lead a spartan existence, and I certainly don't expect you to.

This program is all about resetting your system after an indulgent holiday season, and establishing healthier habits that will serve you well once you go back to the real world.

The vibe is positive and encouraging. No shaming, guilt trips or scolding. I am here to support you, wherever you are on your healthy living spectrum.

I can't say enough about this program. It was fabulous.
