FAQ

What does your work as a nutritionist entail?

I help people get serious about their health and co-create a lifestyle strategy that will provide better energy, a stronger immune system, healthy weight loss, improved mood, and more.

What's it like to work with you?

My approach is to be informative and educational, while also being supportive, positive and inclusive. Absolutely no shaming or guilt trips!

Whether working with individuals or groups, I like to highlight the positive stuff people are already doing, and then build from there. We talk about where someone's life might be out of balance — diet, sleep, work, exercise, stress levels, leisure time — and then we talk about how all of these imbalances can contribute to health issues such as weight gain, belly fat, cravings, poor blood sugar stabilization (pre-diabetes, Type 2 diabetes), mood swings and fatigue.

I work step-by-step with my clients to add healthier foods and habits to their lives so that the unhealthier foods and choices become less appealing, and the indulgences less frequent.

Will you shame me or make me feel guilty about my current state of health?

Absolutely not. My approach is positive, inclusive, empathetic, and collaborative. I help my clients design a lifestyle strategy that starts with the healthy lifestyle habits they probably already have — and then we expand from there. I believe in positive, nurturing encouragement.

If you’re motivated by yelling, screaming or belittling, I’m not your girl.

Are you a vegan? Vegetarian? Paleo? And if so, will you make me be vegan, vegetarian or Paleo?

Nope!

As part of our work together, I help you figure out which foods work best for your individual body and lifestyle. I firmly believe that one person’s food is another person’s poison, so I would never recommend that you follow a vegan or Paleo or flavor-of-the-month diet simply because it works for someone else. Or me, for that matter. So don’t worry — I won’t make you drink wheatgrass juice or snort spirulina. Unless you really, really want to.

Do you have any dietary or other biases I should know about?

Yes! I will definitely encourage you to eat more fresh vegetables. Especially if you’re the kind of person who’s eating a salad a week, or slapping a tomato on a low-fat sub and calling it good. We’ll probably also talk about other radical approaches such as drinking adequate water, eating “real” unprocessed food, getting enough sleep and making time to take care of yourself.

Are you a health hardcore?

Nope — I’m a realist who tries to eat and live healthy about 85-90% of the time. I believe in creating a healthy foundation day-to-day so you can enjoy life’s indulgences. In my case, this involves truffle fries and a perfectly dry martini.

How do I know we’ll work well together?

The fact that you’re still reading this FAQ tells me we’ll probably work well together. My programs aren’t for everyone — they’re designed to work for people who are motivated and excited about changing their life and habits. I work with people who are willing to become more mindful about their diet and habits, foster a positive attitude, co-create and follow a step-by-step plan for success, and learn how to activate their body’s inherent capacity to heal and balance itself.

How can I work with you?
